HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to recognize Stanley Campbell on the 
4occasion of his many years of dedicated service and activism 
5in pursuit of a better community; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Stanley Campbell was hired as director of 
7Rockford Urban Ministries in 1985 and has served in that role 
8for the past 38 years; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Stanley Campbell is the founder of numerous 
10non-profit organizations, including the Rock River Valley Food 
11Pantry, JustGoods fair trade market, Rockford Work Camps, and 
12Harm Reduction Outreach; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Stanley Campbell is a tireless advocate for a 
14variety of important issues, including helping those less 
15fortunate, building safer communities, and increasing 
16involvement in mission and peace issues; beyond bringing 
17awareness to these and other pressing issues, he is never 
18afraid to do the work necessary to find long-term, meaningful 
19solutions; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, Stanley Campbell has overseen the organization of 
21numerous community events, including the CROP Hunger Walk and

1Good Friday Walk for Justice, has established lasting 
2community partnerships, and has strengthened collaboration 
3between leaders of faith in pursuit of the causes of peace and 
4justice for the Rockford community; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Stanley Campbell will retire from the Rockford 
6Urban Ministries in the summer of 2023, ending an impressive 
7career dedicated to uplifting the community and people he 
8loves so dearly; therefore, be it
  
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
10HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
11we recognize and applaud Stanley Campbell's many years of 
12outstanding service and dedication to the Rockford community 
13and wish him happiness and great success in his future 
14endeavors; and be it further
  
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
16presented to Stanley Campbell as a symbol of our esteem and 
17respect.
