HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the Wendell Phillips High 
4School Wildcats on the 50th anniversary of winning the 1973 
5Chicago Public League Championship; and
 
6    WHEREAS, The Wildcats displayed extraordinary talent, 
7dedication, and sportsmanship throughout the 1973 football 
8season; and
 
9    WHEREAS, The Wildcats were guided by their exceptional 
10coaching staff, C. Bonner, K. Foley, and G. Szukala; and
 
11    WHEREAS, The Wildcats who demonstrated an unwavering 
12commitment during the 1973 season include Glenn Benson, Dennis 
13Blackshire, Carl Bonner, Kim Bowie, Anthony Clay, Dwayne Clay, 
14Lewis Clayton, Mike Clemons, Jeffrey Cline, Victor Cole, J. 
15Cunningham, S. Davis, Reginald Dillard, Keith Foley, Leo 
16Forbes, Jackie Franklyn, A. Gillespie, Richard Grantham, Ray

3    WHEREAS, The Wildcats showcased remarkable teamwork, 
4resilience, and determination in every game, making their fans 
5and the entire City of Chicago proud; and
 
6    WHEREAS, The Wildcats' impressive journey culminated in a 
7triumphant victory, earning them the title of champions of the 
81973 Chicago Public League; and
 
9    WHEREAS, The Wildcats' championship not only brought honor 
10to their school but also served as an inspiration to young 
11athletes across our great State; and
 
12    WHEREAS, The Wildcats' 1973 football championship is a 
13testament to the dedication, skill, and spirit of excellence 
14that our young athletes can achieve; therefore, be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
16HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
17we congratulate the Wendell Phillips High School Wildcats on 
18the 50th anniversary of winning the 1973 Chicago Public League 
19Championship, and we wish the school continued success in all 
20its future endeavors; and be it further

1    RESOLVED, That we commend the coaches, players, and all 
2those who supported the Wildcats throughout that remarkable 
3season; and be it further
 
4    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
