| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Dean E. | ||||||
| 4 | Ten Bruin Sr., who passed away on April 16, 2023; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Dean Ten Bruin was born to Ralph and Charlotte | ||||||
| 6 | (Ryan) Ten Bruin in Chicago on February 12, 1948; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Dean Ten Bruin was raised in Chicago, Colorado | ||||||
| 8 | Springs, Colorado, and Lowell, Indiana, before settling in | ||||||
| 9 | Antioch, where he graduated from Antioch High School in 1965; | ||||||
| 10 | and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Upon graduating, Dean Ten Bruin enlisted in the | ||||||
| 12 | United States Air Force, where he served until he was | ||||||
| 13 | honorably discharged in 1968; and | ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Dean Ten Bruin married his high school | ||||||
| 15 | sweetheart, Linnea Christensen, on September 19, 1970; their | ||||||
| 16 | marriage produced two children, Ralph and Dean Ten Bruin Jr.; | ||||||
| 17 | and | ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Dean Ten Bruin was employed at Intermatic, Inc. | ||||||
| 19 | in Spring Grove, where he worked his way up from material | ||||||
| 20 | handler to buyer; after 42 years of service, he retired in | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | April of 2013; and | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, After officially moving to Spring Grove with his | ||||||
| 3 | family in 1976, Dean Ten Bruin served as a volunteer fireman, | ||||||
| 4 | as the president of the Spring Grove School Board, and on the | ||||||
| 5 | Spring Grove Zoning Board of Appeals; and | ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Dean Ten Bruin enjoyed golfing with his two sons | ||||||
| 7 | as well as bowling and cutting his grass; and | ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Dean Ten Bruin was a member of the Lutheran | ||||||
| 9 | Church of All Saints and a blood donor at Versiti Blood Bank in | ||||||
| 10 | Crystal Lake; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Dean Ten Bruin was preceded in death by his | ||||||
| 12 | parents; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Dean Ten Bruin is survived by his wife, Linnea; | ||||||
| 14 | his children, Ralph and Dean Ten Bruin Jr.; his grandchildren, | ||||||
| 15 | Cooper, Madeline, Riley, and Charlie; his brother, Wayne; his | ||||||
| 16 | sister-in-law, Debbie (John) Lewis; his nieces, Tammy and | ||||||
| 17 | Natalie (Michael) Unes; his aunt, Gloria Lowe; as well as many | ||||||
| 18 | cousins; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 19 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 20 | HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||

| 1 | we mourn the passing of Dean E. Ten Bruin Sr. and extend our | ||||||
| 2 | sincere condolences to his family, friends and all who knew | ||||||
| 3 | and loved him; and be it further
| ||||||
| 4 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 5 | presented to the family of Dean Ten Bruin as an expression of | ||||||
| 6 | our deepest sympathy.
