HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Mary J.
4Schultz of Richmond, who passed away on April 14, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mary Schultz was born in Roundout to Julia and
6George Panek on March 18, 1923, and she was raised in Richmond;
7and
 
8    WHEREAS, Mary Schultz founded the Richmond Food Pantry,
9started and led the F.I.S.H. program, and helped with the St.
10Joseph Lending Library; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Mary Schultz was a member of the Richmond Grade
12School Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) and the
13Richmond-Burton Community High School Mothers Club; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Mary Schultz served as an election judge, a
15school crossing guard, and a Brownie and Girl Scout leader;
16and
 
17    WHEREAS, Mary Schultz was preceded in death by her son,
18Charles W. Schultz Jr.; her sister, Alice (Carl) Baum; and her
19brothers, Louis (Jean) and Walter (Rose) Panek; and

1    WHEREAS, Mary Schultz is survived by her daughter, Karen
2(Carl) Jensen; her son, Michael (Danielle) Schultz; her
3grandchildren, Katie (Zach) Henkel, Carrie Jensen, and
4Christie (Thomas) Stephens; her great-grandchildren, Nathan
5Henkel and Elliot Stephens; and many nieces and nephews;
6therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
8HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
9we mourn the passing of Mary J. Schultz and extend our deepest
10sympathies to her family, friends, colleagues, and all who
11knew and admired her; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Mary Schultz as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
