HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to recognize Diamanto Mesiacos on her 
4recent accomplishments in archery; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Diamanto Mesiacos, the daughter of Ted and Kate 
6Mesiacos, is currently a freshman at Rosary High School in 
7Aurora; she previously attended Holy Angels Catholic School in 
8Aurora for her grade school education; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Diamanto Mesiacos has participated in several 
10events hosted by archery groups based in the State, including 
11the Junior Olympic Archery Development Program (JOAD) through 
12the Illinois Target Archery Association (ITAA) and the Field 
13Archery of Illinois (FAI) organization; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Last year alone, Diamanto Mesiacos placed first 
15in the BareBow Female U15 at the 2022 ITAA JOAD Indoor State 
16Championship, placed first in the BareBow Female U15 at the 
172022 FAI Indoor State Championship, and placed first in the 
18BareBow Female U15 at the 2022 ITAA JOAD Outdoor State 
19Championship, where she was also the top scorer in the BareBow 
20Female All-Ages competition; and
 
21    WHEREAS, This year, Diamanto Mesiacos has continued with

1her remarkable achievements in archery; on August 5, 2023, she 
2placed first in the BareBow Female U18 at the 2023 ITAA JOAD 
3Outdoor State Championship, achieving a new state record in 
4the process; she also placed first in the BareBow Female U18 at 
5the 2023 ITAA All-Ages Outdoor State Championship; therefore, 
6be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
8HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
9we recognize Diamanto Mesiacos on her recent achievements in 
10archery, thank her for representing the sport and the State of 
11Illinois, and wish her continued success; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
13presented to Diamanto Mesiacos as an expression of our esteem 
14and respect.
