HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Patricia "Pat" "Patsy" Andreasen of Plainfield, who passed away on November 8, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Patricia Andreasen was born to Vinton and Jennie Flanagan in Chicago on October 2, 1932; she married Earl W. Andreasen Sr. in 1955, and they settled in Plainfield and became very active members of the community; and

WHEREAS, After graduating high school, Pat Andreasen enjoyed a brief career as a flight attendant for United Airlines; in Plainfield, she was a co-owner of Earl's Music, The Dance Factory, Hall's Texaco, and Andreasen Travel; and

WHEREAS, Pat Andreasen was a longtime member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, the Plainfield Area Chamber of Commerce, and MainStreet Plainfield; she volunteered selflessly for numerous organizations, including the St. Joseph Hospital Women's Auxiliary; she loved attending Plainfield village board meetings, and she was often referred to as the matriarch of Plainfield; and

WHEREAS, Pat Andreasen was honored as the Grand Marshal of the Plainfield Homecoming Parade in 2007; and

WHEREAS, Pat Andreasen was known for her pool and parade parties and her love of Maui; above all, she lived each day for her family and loved each member in her own unique way; her life was one of dedication to her family, her friends, and her community; and

WHEREAS, Pat Andreasen was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her siblings, James Flanagan, Maureen Sheppard, and Timothy Flanagan; and

WHEREAS, Pat Andreasen is survived by her children, Earl (Debbie) Andreasen and Ingrid (Christopher) Price; her grandchildren, Brandon (Christina) Andreasen, Ryan (Danah Moorhouse) Andreasen, Kaitlin (Alex) Andreasen, Chelsea (Andrew) Calhoon, and Jake (Matt Flanagan) Price; her great-grandchildren, Madison Andreasen, Jackson Anderson, Finn Johnson-Andreasen, Jack Calhoon, Makenzie Moorhouse, and Lily Moorhouse; her numerous nieces and nephews, especially Michael (Janette) Sheppard, Heather (Adam) Gear, James Flanagan, Samantha, Nicholas, Kyle, Joseph, Elizabeth, and Ethan; and her great friends, including Barb Barrows, Sally Conklin, and the "Pizza Gang"; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Patricia "Pat" "Patsy" Andreasen and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Pat Andreasen as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
