2 | | WHEREAS, The Illinois House of Representatives wishes to |
3 | | commend the City of Joliet and the City of Joliet Fire |
4 | | Department for their partnership with the mental health |
5 | | provider Thriveworks; and |
6 | | WHEREAS, Thriveworks, founded by AJ Centore, Ph.D. in |
7 | | 2008, is a leading mental health provider that helps people |
8 | | live happy and successful lives by making high-quality |
9 | | counseling and psychiatry services accessible and affordable; |
10 | | and |
11 | | WHEREAS, Thriveworks offers licensed clinicians who are |
12 | | in-network with major insurance plans and provides in-person |
13 | | and online care for depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, |
14 | | relationship issues, and more; and |
15 | | WHEREAS, The partnership between the City of Joliet and |
16 | | Thriveworks followed the successful implementation of |
17 | | city-provided, Thriveworks-facilitated mental health services |
18 | | for first responders and educators in early 2022; and |
19 | | WHEREAS, Thriveworks opened its first clinic in Joliet on |
20 | | July 12, 2022, which coincided with the launch of a landmark |
21 | | mental health program funded by the City of Joliet and |

1 | | included a $400,000 pledge from the city to fund mental health |
2 | | services through Thriveworks and Silver Cross Hospital for the |
3 | | city's underinsured and uninsured, including low-income and |
4 | | unhoused residents; and |
5 | | WHEREAS, Thriveworks' mental health services are |
6 | | accessible to uninsured residents through a voucher dispatched |
7 | | by the City of Joliet Fire Department, while residents with |
8 | | insurance can have any out-of-pocket expenses covered; and |
9 | | WHEREAS, Thriveworks in Joliet includes TherapyLand, a |
10 | | unique pediatric behavioral health center equipped with the |
11 | | best resources to foster child development and mental health |
12 | | counseling, including designated areas for home/kitchen play, |
13 | | dress up, and sandbox play and offers children the chance to |
14 | | utilize blocks, puppets, nurturing toys, art supplies, and |
15 | | more; and |
16 | | WHEREAS, According to the City of Joliet Fire Department, |
17 | | since the implementation of Thriveworks, emergency calls |
18 | | related to mental health crises have decreased as well as the |
19 | | overcall costs of emergency response; and |
20 | | WHEREAS, Thriveworks continues to make an impact in the |
21 | | region, having been adopted by Joliet Township and Plainfield, |
22 | | with the Townships of Wheatland and Lockport working to adopt |

2 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
3 | | HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
4 | | we commend the City of Joliet and the City of Joliet Fire |
5 | | Department for their partnership with Thriveworks to provide |
6 | | mental health services to the residents of Joliet; and be it |
7 | | further |
8 | | RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be |
9 | | presented to the City of Joliet, the City of Joliet Fire |
10 | | Department, and Thriveworks as a symbol of our esteem and |
11 | | respect. |
