| 6 | | WHEREAS, Doug Quick's nearly five-decade career in |
| 7 | | broadcasting began in 1974 at WTIM/WTIM-FM in his hometown of |
| 8 | | Taylorville; he worked at several Central Illinois radio |
| 9 | | stations over the years until his move to television; and |
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Doug Quick began at WICD-TV as promotions |
| 11 | | director in 1994; he then had a successful 25-year career as a |
| 12 | | radio broadcaster, manager, and sales representative; he |
| 13 | | retired as the market's longest tenured weathercaster on |
| 14 | | September 30, 2021, having been broadcasting weather at the |
| 15 | | Champaign studios since 1996; and |
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Doug Quick has been active over the years in the |
| 17 | | preservation of Vermilion County and Central Illinois history, |
| 18 | | primarily in the fields of communications and the early years |
| 19 | | of television in Central Illinois; in 2017, he published |
| 20 | | Pictures on the Prairie: The First Ten Years of Mid-Illinois |
| 21 | | Television; he has maintained his Central Illinois OnLine |
| 22 | | Broadcast Museum at dougquick.com for over 20 years; and |
