HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the Cary-Grove High 
4School football team, the Trojans, on winning the 2023 
5Illinois High School Association Class 6A State Championship; 
6and
 
7    WHEREAS, The Trojans defeated East St. Louis High School 
8in a thrilling 23 to 20 victory on November 25, 2023 at Hancock 
9Stadium in Normal on the campus of Illinois State University; 
10and
 
11    WHEREAS, The Trojans overcame a five-point fourth-quarter 
12deficit with 1 minute 19 seconds remaining; and
 
13    WHEREAS, The Trojans compiled a season record of 12 wins 
14and 2 losses on their way to the championship and won 17 of 
15their last 18 playoff games; and
 
16    WHEREAS, This is the Trojans second championship in three 
17seasons; therefore, be it
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
19HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
20we congratulate the Cary-Grove High School football team, the

3seasons; and be it further
 
4    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
