HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, CSI Jeremy Hansen has been awarded the 
3prestigious Lifesaver Award by the Missouri Department of 
4Corrections for his actions on December 31, 2023 while 
5employed at the Northeast Correctional Center in Bowling 
6Green, Missouri; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Acting Shift Commander CSI Hansen was on duty 
8when he was notified that a member of the Northeast 
9Correctional Center staff was in the process of taking his own 
10life; and
 
11    WHEREAS, CSI Hansen immediately began attempting to 
12contact the staff member and locate him, but, after failing to 
13make contact with the individual, he enlisted the help of 
14local county and police departments; and
 
15    WHEREAS, The Hannibal Police Department found the 
16individual after being provided with his last known location 
17and a description of his car provided by CSI Hansen; and
 
18    WHEREAS, The individual was quickly moved to the local 
19hospital where life-saving measures were successfully taken; 
20and

1    WHEREAS, The outcome of this event could have been 
2drastically different if it weren't for the quick and 
3unyielding dedication on the part of CSI Hansen; therefore, be 
4it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
6HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
7we commend CSI Jeremy Hansen for going above and beyond the 
8call of duty to save a fellow officer in distress, reflecting 
9great merit upon himself and the entire law enforcement 
10community; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12presented to CSI Hansen as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
