HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Darren Henry, an eighth 
4grader at Jacksonville Middle School, on placing first in the 
5high jump at the 2024 Illinois Elementary School Association 
6(IESA) Class 4A 8th Grade Boys State Track and Field Meet; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Darren Henry placed first by reaching a height of 
86 feet and 6 inches, setting an IESA and Jacksonville Middle 
9School record; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Darren Henry also placed second in the long jump 
11with a distance of 20 feet and 11.125 inches; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Darren Henry participated in both the 4x100m 
13relay and the 4x400m relay, taking first place and second 
14place, respectively; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Darren Henry is led by Coach Leon Clinton; 
16therefore, be it
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
18HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
19we congratulate Darren Henry on his accomplishments at the 
202024 Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA) Class 4A

18th Grade Boys State Track and Field Meet, and we wish him 
2continued success in the future; and be it further
 
3    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
4presented to Darren Henry as an expression of our esteem and 
5respect.
