HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of the 
4Honorable Raymond E. "Ray" Rossi, the former Mayor of the 
5Village of Frankfort, who passed away on June 25, 2024; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Judge Rossi, the son of Arnold Rossi and Elsie 
7(Nardoni) Rossi, was born on August 1, 1953; he married Terri 
8Wilson; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Judge Rossi retired as Judge of the Twelfth 
10Judicial Circuit Court of Will County in Joliet; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Judge Rossi served as Mayor of the Village of 
12Frankfort from 1993 to 2005; during his tenure, he spearheaded 
13initiatives focused on economic development, community 
14engagement, and sustainable growth, elevating community 
15standards in the process and helping make Frankfort the modern 
16village it is today; he was noted as a tough but respected 
17leader who always looked out for what was best for the village 
18and its residents; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Judge Rossi was a member of St. Anthony Catholic 
20Church in Frankfort, where he served as Past Grand Knight in 
21the Knights of Columbus; and

1    WHEREAS, Judge Rossi had a passion for wrestling and 
2coached at the Falcon Wrestling Club; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Judge Rossi will be remembered for his 
4leadership, his integrity, and his commitment to the Frankfort 
5community; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Judge Rossi was preceded in death by his wife, 
7Terri Rossi, and his father; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Judge Rossi is survived by his mother; his 
9children, Amanda (Michael) Marshall, Brandon (Kristin) Rossi, 
10Carmen Rossi, and Drake Rossi; his siblings, Joseph (Eileen) 
11Rossi and AJ (Missy) Rossi; his grandchildren, Brock Marshall, 
12Chase Marshall, Gianna Marshall, Gage Marshall, Miabella 
13Marshall, Madeline Rossi, Tyler Rossi, and Quinn Rossi; and 
14his great-grandson, Beckham Marshall; therefore, be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
16HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
17we mourn the passing of the Honorable Raymond E. "Ray" Rossi, 
18the former Mayor of the Village of Frankfort, and extend our 
19sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew 
20and loved him; and be it further
