| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Percy L. | ||||||
| 4 | King III of Peoria, who passed away on July 1, 2024; and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Percy King was born to Annie Ruth Carter and | ||||||
| 6 | Percy King Jr. in Natchez, Mississippi on January 17, 1963; he | ||||||
| 7 | attended Brookhaven High School in Brookhaven, Mississippi; | ||||||
| 8 | and | ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Percy King worked as a cement truck driver with | ||||||
| 10 | Construction Materials and United Ready Mix for many years; he | ||||||
| 11 | was also employed as a custodian with PCCEO Head Start until | ||||||
| 12 | the time of his passing; and | ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Percy King loved barbecuing, watching the Dallas | ||||||
| 14 | Cowboys, traveling by Amtrak train, and spending time with his | ||||||
| 15 | family and friends, especially his grandchildren; and | ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Percy King never met a stranger, and he | ||||||
| 17 | considered all he knew to be family; and | ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Percy King was preceded in death by his parents; | ||||||
| 19 | his son, Percy L. King IV; his brothers, Eric Morris and Ronald | ||||||
| 20 | Furness; and his nephew, Robert Carter Jr.; and | ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Percy King is survived by his wife, Stacey | ||||||
| 2 | Johnson-King; his "pops", Eddie Thomas Williams Sr.; his | ||||||
| 3 | daughters, Shekia and Rekia (Zachary); his sons, Johnathan, | ||||||
| 4 | Bentavius (Danielle), and Stephon (Anayasha); his | ||||||
| 5 | daughter-in-law, Callandra (Sue Sue) Neal; his brothers, Ricky | ||||||
| 6 | (Denise) Carter, Robert Carter, Eddie Williams, Eddie (TeeSee) | ||||||
| 7 | Thomas Williams III, and Brian Williams; his sisters, Cynthia | ||||||
| 8 | (Diane) Porter-King, Stephanie Furness, Trumeka Clark, Keshia | ||||||
| 9 | Williams, and Brandy Williams; 15 grandchildren; and a host of | ||||||
| 10 | nieces, nephews, and other family members; therefore, be it | ||||||
| 11 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 12 | HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 13 | we mourn the passing of Percy L. King III and extend our | ||||||
| 14 | sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew | ||||||
| 15 | and loved him; and be it further | ||||||
| 16 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 17 | presented to the family of Percy King as an expression of our | ||||||
| 18 | deepest sympathy. | ||||||
