HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of David
4Allen "Dave" Besler of Bloomington, who passed away on May 9,
52024; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Dave Besler was born in Clinton, Iowa to Edward
7and Helen (Dobrzeniecki) Besler on November 8, 1960; he
8married Anne in Bloomington on November 23, 1985; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Dave Besler worked with the mortgage team at
10First State Mortgage in Bloomington; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Dave Besler was a member of the Kiwanis Club, the
12Mid-Illinois Realtor Association, and the Bloomington-Normal
13Chamber of Commerce; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Dave Besler was known as a genuine friend and
15tireless volunteer; he chaired committees for pancake days and
16the Mother's Day flower sale in his blue apron, always with a
17warm smile; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Dave Besler's personal passions included caring
19for his home and lawn; he was known for many culinary
20specialties and for decades he started his day with a morning

1run; he ran four marathons and later half-marathons with his
2daughters; he loyally supported his Chicago teams, the Bears
3and the White Sox, and enjoyed time at stadiums with friends
4and family, especially those where he sat next to his son; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dave Besler loved his family and the time they
6spent together; he especially loved vacations to the beach and
7was always ready for swimming, digging, and a plate of oysters
8and a cold beer; he was rich in friendships throughout his
9life, including friends from his youth, friends made of those
10with whom he and Anne raised their children, and friends from
11his church, neighborhood, and community groups; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Dave Besler was preceded in death by his parents;
13his parents-in-law, Frank and Paula Brady; and his niece, Abby
14Warchal; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Dave Besler is survived by his wife of 42 years,
16Anne; his children, Dr. Margaret (Samuel) Nagel, Patrick
17(Eileen) Besler, and Colleen (Anthony) Capobianco; his
18grandchildren, Eleanor and Frederick Nagel, Peter and William
19Besler, and Louis Capobianco; his twin brother, Dan (Donna);
20his brothers, Thom (Cindy) and Rich (Judy) Besler; his sister,
21Cathy (Ed) Warchal; his brothers-in-law, Francis (Mary Jane)
22Brady and Dan (Teri) Brady; his sisters-in-law, Mary (Gerry)
23Wahlheim and Julia (Tim) McCarthy; and numerous nieces,

1nephews, and great-nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
3HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
4we mourn the passing of David Allen "Dave" Besler and extend
5our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who
6knew and loved him; and be it further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Dave Besler as an expression of our
9deepest sympathy.
