HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Charles L. Hoselton Sr. of Fairbury, who passed away on July 15, 2024; and

WHEREAS, Charles Hoselton, a lifelong resident of Fairbury, dedicated himself to his community with unwavering devotion and passion; and

WHEREAS, Charles Hoselton served as a valued member of the Fairbury Fire Department for 22 years; he played a pivotal role in the construction of the new fire station, completed in 2015, reflecting his commitment to public safety; and

WHEREAS, Charles Hoselton's leadership on the City Council for the City of Fairbury spanned over 13 years, during which he tirelessly advocated for the residents of Ward 2 and the city as a whole; and

WHEREAS, Charles Hoselton was a proud graduate of Chenoa High School, a dedicated mechanic at Union Roofing for over 40 years, and a passionate collector of classic cars and Hot Wheels, with a particular fondness for his Chevy Nova; and

WHEREAS, Charles Hoselton's family, who brought him his greatest joys in life, included his wife, Nina, his children, Charles Jr., James, and Joshua, his sister, Cindy Ramsey, and his grandchildren, Anthony, Ayden, Zion, Maren, and Indie; and

WHEREAS, Charles Hoselton will be remembered for his outstanding contributions to his community, his steadfast dedication to public service, and his enduring legacy of leadership and compassion; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Charles L. Hoselton Sr. and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Charles Hoselton as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
