HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of John Terry "Bones" Allan of Collinsville, who passed away on December 11, 2024; and

WHEREAS, Terry Allan was born in East St. Louis to Elmer and Constance (Genetti) Allan on January 22, 1943; he graduated from Collinsville High School in 1961; he married Mary Therese Frauenfelder in 1967; and

WHEREAS, Terry Allan worked at Viviano's grocery store and surrounding stores as a meat cutter for Local 88 and Local 534 from 1968 to 1975; he was a car salesman for Bo Beuckman Ford, Elmer Molitor, and Jack Schmitt Ford from 1975 through 1988; and

WHEREAS, Terry Allan was elected Collinsville Township Clerk in 1977 and served for four years; he served as Collinsville Township Supervisor for 39 years from 1981 through March 2020; he generously volunteered his time to help many organizations in the Collinsville, Maryville, and other Metro East areas, serving as chairman, vice chairman, treasurer, and board member for the Madison County Transit District for a 34 year span, as a committeeman for the Metro East Regional Storm Water District and Madison County Public Aid Appeal, as past president and secretary of the Madison County Township Officials, and as past president of the Collinsville Democrat Club; and

WHEREAS, Terry Allan attended Missouri Auction School in Kansas City, Missouri to become an auctioneer in 1982; he and Mary were the owners of Allan Auction Service for 38 years from 1982 to 2020 with the children, grandchildren, and many special family and friends helping at each sale; he was a member of state and national auctioneer associations and was past president, secretary, and treasurer of the Local Region of the Illinois Auctioneer Association; and

WHEREAS, Terry Allan had a vivacious love for life and his community, and his true passion was for helping those in need; he was a member and ex-officio of the Collinsville Chamber of Commerce and worked with the Troy, Maryville, St. Jacob, and Marine Chamber of Commerce; and

WHEREAS, Terry Allan received numerous awards and recognitions over the years, including the Paul Harris Fellowship Award from the National Rotary Club, the 2005 Wilkerson Chapel A.M.E. Church Golden Spirit Award, the Local Collinsville Lions Club Award, the Kimmel Award, and the 2010 Spirit of Excellence Award; and

WHEREAS, Terry Allan was affectionately known as "Bones"; he loved spending quality time with family and friends and enjoyed hosting gatherings; he loved to fish and was known for his BBQ and grill master skills; during the holidays, he brought joy and smiles to hundreds of children and the elderly when he visited them as Santa; and

WHEREAS, Terry Allan was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Harry and Eileen (Berkley) Frauenfelder; his brother, William Allan; his brothers-in-law, Warren Billhartz, John Frauenfelder, and Robert Modlin; and his sister-in-law, Janice Frauenfelder; and

WHEREAS, Terry Allan is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary; his daughter, Teri (Mike) Picchioldi; his daughter, Jeana (Jim) Heyden; his son, Luke (Beth) Allan; his grandchildren, Joel (Yenny) Blaies, Lauren (Anthony) Randazzo, Nicole Picchioldi, Kailey (Ryan) Onesky, Megan (Tyler) Auten, Luke (Samantha) Allan, Paige Allan, and Danica Allan; his great-grandchildren, Amelie Blaies, Zoe Blaies, Blaine Randazzo, Raife Randazzo, Blake Randazzo, and Baby Auten due in June 2025; his brothers, Thomas (Billie) Allan and Edward (Annette) Allan; his sisters, Marybeth Allan and Marcia Billhartz; his sister-in-law, Sally Allan; his brothers-in-law, Harry Joe and Ron (Laurel) Frauenfelder; many dear cousins, nieces and nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces, great-great-nephews, and cherished friends; and the Collinsville Township family and auction family; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of John Terry "Bones" Allan and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Terry Allan as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
