| 2 | | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 188 on page 1, by |
| 3 | | replacing lines 18 through 23 with the following: |
| 4 | | "A parent who consents to the performance upon the |
| 5 | | parent's
child of a health care service under this Section |
| 6 | | shall be
entitled, upon request, to inspect and copy the part |
| 7 | | of that child's records related to the specific health care |
| 8 | | service
for which the parent is treated as the child's |
| 9 | | personal
representative under HIPAA, 45 CFR 164.502(g). For |
| 10 | | purposes of this Section, each appointment, referral, test, |
| 11 | | treatment, procedure, or other medical intervention is a |
| 12 | | separate and distinct health care service for the purpose of |
| 13 | | determining whether a parent is treated as the child's |
| 14 | | personal representative under HIPAA, 45 CFR 164.502(g), with |
| 15 | | respect to that health care service.".
