| 2 | | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 331 by replacing |
| 3 | | everything after the enacting clause with the following: |
| 4 | | "Section 5. The University of Illinois Act is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 180 as follows: |
| 6 | | (110 ILCS 305/180 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 180. Winter weather emergency closure; educational |
| 8 | | support services pay. If a campus is closed due to a city, |
| 9 | | county, or State declaration of a winter weather emergency, |
| 10 | | the Board of Trustees shall pay to its employees who provide |
| 11 | | educational support services to the campus, including, but not |
| 12 | | limited to, custodial employees, building maintenance |
| 13 | | employees, transportation employees, food service providers, |
| 14 | | classroom assistants, or administrative staff, their daily, |
| 15 | | regular rate of pay and benefits rendered for the campus |
| 16 | | closure if the closure precludes them from performing their |

| 6 | | rendered. |
| 7 | | Section 10. The Southern Illinois University Management |
| 8 | | Act is amended by adding Section 155 as follows: |
| 9 | | (110 ILCS 520/155 new) |
| 10 | | Sec. 155. Winter weather emergency closure; educational |
| 11 | | support services pay. If a campus is closed due to a city, |
| 12 | | county, or State declaration of a winter weather emergency, |
| 13 | | the Board shall pay to its employees who provide educational |
| 14 | | support services to the campus, including, but not limited to, |
| 15 | | custodial employees, building maintenance employees, |
| 16 | | transportation employees, food service providers, classroom |
| 17 | | assistants, or administrative staff, their daily, regular rate |
| 18 | | of pay and benefits rendered for the campus closure if the |
| 19 | | closure precludes them from performing their regularly |
| 20 | | scheduled duties and the employee would have reported for work |
| 21 | | but for the closure; however, this requirement does not apply |
