1 | | guidelines set forth in this Section. |
2 | | (b) The State Board of Education shall create and maintain |
3 | | a comprehensive training program in advanced manufacturing to |
4 | | ensure an adequate supply of trained and skilled individuals |
5 | | to work in advanced manufacturing and to ensure appropriate |
6 | | representation of racial and ethnic groups in all phases of |
7 | | the industry. The State Board of Education shall develop the |
8 | | advanced manufacturing training program described in this |
9 | | subsection (b) to be taught as part of the curriculum of the |
10 | | public school system from grades K-12 and made readily |
11 | | available to all school districts. School districts may |
12 | | include programs in education in advanced manufacturing as a |
13 | | part of the curriculum of that district. |
14 | | (c) The State Board of Education shall adopt such rules as |
15 | | are necessary to implement the provisions of this Section. The |
16 | | rules shall not create any new State mandates on school |
17 | | districts as a condition of receiving federal, State, and |
18 | | local funds by those entities. |
19 | | (d) The State Board of Education shall assume |
20 | | responsibility for the administration of the program adopted |
21 | | under this Section throughout all public school districts as |
22 | | well as developing the program to match the requirements and |
23 | | mandates of federal programming. ".
