| 4 | | "Section 5. The Illinois Police Training Act is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 6.8 as follows:

| 7 | | Sec. 6.8. Department of Correction correctional officer |
| 8 | | certification. The Board shall adopt rules to certify |
| 9 | | Department of Correction correctional officers as full-time |
| 10 | | law enforcement officers or part-time law enforcement |
| 11 | | officers. A correctional officer certified under the rules may |
| 12 | | not be required to attend basic training school before being |
| 13 | | certified.". |
