AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 3318 

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 3318 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 5. The State Employees Group Insurance Act of 
51971 is amended by adding Section 6.11D as follows:
 
6    (5 ILCS 375/6.11D new)
7    Sec. 6.11D. Coverage for treatments to slow the 
8progression of Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias. 
9Beginning on July 1, 2025, the State Employees Group Insurance 
10Program shall provide coverage for all medically necessary 
11FDA-approved treatments or medications prescribed to slow the 
12progression of Alzheimer's Disease or another related 
13dementia, as determined by a physician licensed to practice 
14medicine in all its branches. Coverage for all FDA-approved 
15treatments or medications prescribed to slow the progression 
16of Alzheimer's Disease or another related dementia shall not

1be subject to step therapy. Any diagnostic testing necessary 
2for a physician to determine appropriate use of these 
3treatments or medications shall be covered by the State 
4Employees Group Insurance Program.".
