| 1 | | AN ACT concerning government.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Historic Sites Advisory Council |
| 5 | | Act is amended by adding Section 5.5 as follows:

| 6 | | (20 ILCS 3410/5.5 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 5.5. Notwithstanding any other provision to the |
| 8 | | contrary, the Council may recommend the removal of a place |
| 9 | | from the National Register of Historic Places if the place is a |
| 10 | | bridge that: |
| 11 | | (1) is less than 22 feet wide and has a bannister that is |
| 12 | | at least 18 inches in height; |
| 13 | | (2) crosses or is on a township road; and |
| 14 | | (3) will be renovated or rebuilt. |
