| | | Amends the Unified Code of Corrections. Provides that the Department of Corrections shall restore, within 18 months after closure, the site of a correctional institution or facility to its original condition before the institution or facility was built if the correctional institution or facility is closed and no longer is maintained as a correctional institution or facility. The cost of the restoration of the site shall be paid by the Department of Corrections. |

| 1 | | AN ACT concerning criminal law.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Unified Code of Corrections is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 3-4-2.1 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (730 ILCS 5/3-4-2.1 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 3-4-2.1. Restoration of sites of closed correctional |
| 8 | | institutions and facilities. The Department of Corrections |
| 9 | | shall restore, within 18 months after closure, the site of a |
| 10 | | correctional institution or facility to its original condition |
| 11 | | before the institution or facility was built if the |
