SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Mary M. (Adams) Stacel of Joliet, who 
4passed away on December 17, 2022; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Mary Stacel was born to Emily (Shepich) and John 
6Adams in Denver, Colorado on September 20, 1944; she married 
7David "Dave" Stacel; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Mary Stacel was actively involved with the 
9American Legion Post 1080 Ladies Auxiliary, where she served 
10as treasurer; she also volunteered in other activities; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Mary Stacel was a loving and devoted wife, 
12mother, and grandmother who was dedicated to taking care of 
13her family and faithfully attending all of her grandchildren's 
14activities without hesitation; she also loved animals and 
15shared her animal care skills in many ways, including pet 
16sitting when needed; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Mary Stacel was a loyal and faithful friend to 
18many; she will be remembered for her unselfishness and her 
19beautiful smile; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, Mary Stacel is survived by her husband of 38

1years, Dave; her children, Heather (Jovan) Leary, Tara (Cal) 
2Waldvogel, Craig (Kim) Leary, and Sean Leary; her stepsons, 
3Jason Stacel and Scott (Melanie) Stacel; her grandchildren, 
4Gibson Waldvogel, Colton Waldvogel, Jackson Leary, Isabel 
5Stacel, and Emma Stacel; her sisters, Madelyn Adams and Sandra 
6(Dave) Watts; her cousins, nieces, and nephews; her best 
7friend, Annie Russell; and all of her "Hen" friends; 
8therefore, be it
  
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL 
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

11Mary M. (Adams) Stacel and extend our sincere
condolences to 
12her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
her; and be it 
13further
  
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be

15presented to the family of Mary Stacel as an expression of
our 
16deepest sympathy.
