| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Susan L. Cane of Springfield, who |
| 4 | | passed away on March 8, 2023; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Susan Cane was born in Springfield on November |
| 6 | | 13, 1942; she was the daughter of Lee and Pearl (Nation) |
| 7 | | Benanti; she married Raymond Cane in Springfield on June 19, |
| 8 | | 1971; she earned her Bachelor of Arts from Carthage College; |
| 9 | | and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Susan Cane started her teaching career at |
| 11 | | Riverton Community Unit School District #14; she taught 3rd |
| 12 | | grade at Farmingdale Elementary School before retiring after |
| 13 | | 40 years; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Susan Cane was a member of Grace Lutheran Church |
| 15 | | and Flower City Chapter No. 152, Order of the Eastern Star; she |
| 16 | | had a passion for flowers and enjoyed tending her gardens; she |
| 17 | | loved playing the piano; her biggest joy was spending time |
| 18 | | with her family, especially her grandchildren; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Susan Cane was preceded in death by her parents |
| 20 | | and her granddaughter, Adysen Lowery; and
