SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Carol Joy Bumgarner of Chatham, who 
4passed away on April 10, 2023; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Carol Joy Bumgarner was born to Edsel and Mary 
6Margaret Clark Gilreath in Springfield on December 9, 1947; 
7and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Carol Bumgarner worked at Horace Mann for over 30 
9years until her retirement; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Carol Bumgarner volunteered at Lincoln Memorial 
11Gardens and the hospice program at St. John's Hospital; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Carol Bumgarner was preceded in death by her 
13parents and a sister, Geneva Clem; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Carol Bumgarner is survived by her son, Matthew 
15Bumgarner; her daughter, Mandie (TJ) Henson; her grandsons, 
16Sawyer and AJ Henson; her sisters, Grace Wisniewski, Malinda 
17Paine, Jessica Sharp, and Amy Gilreath; her brother, Michael 
18Gilreath; and her several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
  
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL

1ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
2Carol Joy Bumgarner and extend our sincere condolences to her 
3family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it

5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to the family of Carol Bumgarner as an expression of 
7our deepest sympathy.
