SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Charles "Red" Zentko Sr. of Pekin, who
4passed away on March 30, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Charles Zentko was born to Charles J. and Enelma
6(Block) Zentko in Peoria on January 13, 1939; he married
7Deloris June Chasteen in Peoria on July 8, 1963; he served in
8the U.S. Army; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Charles Zentko worked as a chemist for Central
10Illinois Light Company at the Edwards Station in Bartonville
11for 28 years, retiring in 1999; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Charles Zentko was a diehard fan of the Chicago
13Bears and Chicago Cubs; he enjoyed fishing and watching deer;
14he also enjoyed betting on horses and playing slots; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Charles Zentko was preceded in death by his wife;
16his sister, Janet Worms; and his brother, Richard Zentko; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Charles Zentko is survived by his sons, Charles
18"Chuck" Zentko Jr. and Tony (Lynn) Zentko; his daughters,
19Tammy "Blue" Zentko, Stephanie Tegtmeyer, and Bonnie (Chad)
20Brockett; his grandchildren, Zoe Brockett, Lindsey Tegtmeyer,

1Kenneth (Vicki) Tegtmeyer, Cameron Gullett, Raymond Zentko,
2Julia Zentko, Celena Syrdale, and Kyle Schintz; his
3great-grandchildren, Manny, Naomi, Asher, Adam, and Laya; his
4brother, Norman (Vera) Zentko; and his several nieces and
5nephews; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Charles "Red" Zentko Sr. and extend our sincere condolences to
9his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Charles Zentko as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
