| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of James William Madden of Oak Park, who |
| 4 | | passed away on February 2, 2023 at the age of 77; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, James Madden was born on November 7, 1945 to Joe |
| 6 | | and Margaret Madden; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, James Madden was raised in River Forest and |
| 8 | | attended St. Luke School and Fenwick High School; and |
| 9 | | WHEREAS, James Madden earned both a bachelor's and |
| 10 | | master's degree in history at Marquette University; and |
| 11 | | WHEREAS, James Madden married Leslye Madden, and they had |
| 12 | | four children, John, Olivia, Lara, and Maria Grace; and |
| 13 | | WHEREAS, James Madden worked as a reporter, a social |
| 14 | | worker, and a commodities broker before embarking on a 30-year |
| 15 | | career as an investigator with the Cook County Public |
| 16 | | Defender's Office; and |
| 17 | | WHEREAS, James Madden worked diligently in a profession |
| 18 | | dealing with the struggles of humanity, yet he remained |
| 19 | | affable, optimistic, and sensitive to the beauty in the world; |
