SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Scott L. Ault of Good Hope, who passed away on April 20, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Scott Ault was born to Leonard Franklin and Lula Redfern Ault in Roseville on April 9, 1936; he was raised and resided in the Roseville and Good Hope area; he attended Roseville High School, where he excelled in football, earning conference honors, and was a Golden Gloves Boxer; he was also active in the FFA, serving as chapter president, and he won the Illinois State Fair Governor's Award in the sheep shearing competition; he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany; he married Marilyn Kay Monroe in Roseville on March 9, 1958; and

WHEREAS, After completing his military service, Scott Ault returned to the Roseville area to begin his career as a farmer; he started Circle A Farm, where he raised deer and elk; and

WHEREAS, Scott Ault was a founding member of the North American Elk Breeders Association, serving a term as president; he was also a member of the Warren County Fair Board, serving one term as president, and was an avid tractor puller; and

WHEREAS, Scott Ault was an outdoorsman, and he enjoyed hunting and fishing; and

WHEREAS, Scott Ault was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and one sister; and

WHEREAS, Scott Ault is survived by his wife; his children, Sheila (Thomas) Melton, Lissa (John) Cullen, Michelle (Greg) Barr, and Van (Gail) Ault; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and his brothers, Charles Ault and Donald Ault; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Scott L. Ault and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Scott Ault as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
