| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to |
| 3 | | congratulate Andre Tyler Iguodala on the occasion of his |
| 4 | | retirement as an NBA basketball player for the Golden State |
| 5 | | Warriors; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Andre Iguodala was born and raised in |
| 7 | | Springfield, playing basketball from a young age while |
| 8 | | attending the Boys and Girls Club; he graduated from Lanphier |
| 9 | | High School in 2002; he played basketball for the University |
| 10 | | of Arizona men's basketball team, the Wildcats, from 2002 to |
| 11 | | 2004; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Andre Iguodala was selected by the Philadelphia |
| 13 | | 76ers in the first round of the 2004 NBA Draft, where he played |
| 14 | | from 2004 to 2012; he played for the Denver Nuggets from 2012 |
| 15 | | to 2013 before joining the Golden State Warriors from 2013 to |
| 16 | | 2019; he then played for the Miami Heat from 2020 to 2021 |
| 17 | | before returning to play for the Golden State Warriors in |
| 18 | | 2021; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Andre Iguodala represented the United States as a |
| 20 | | member of the U.S. national team at the 2010 FIBA World |
| 21 | | Championship tournament and as a member of the U.S. men's |
| 22 | | basketball team at the 2012 Olympic Games, earning a gold |
|

| 1 | | medal in both competitions; and
|
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of his NBA career, spanning 19 |
| 3 | | seasons, Andre Iguodala averaged 11.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, |
| 4 | | and 4.3 assists per game; his achievements include being named |
| 5 | | to the NBA All-Rookie First Team in 2005, the NBA |
| 6 | | All-Defensive Second Team in 2011, and the NBA All-Defensive |
| 7 | | First Team in 2014; he was named the 2012 NBA All-Star and the |
| 8 | | 2015 NBA Finals MVP, and he was a member of NBA champion team |
| 9 | | in 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2022; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Andre Iguodala is the son of Linda Shanklin, the |
| 11 | | husband of Christina, the father of Andre Tyler II, and the |
| 12 | | brother of Frank; therefore, be it
|
| 13 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL |
| 14 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Andre |
| 15 | | Tyler Iguodala on his retirement as an NBA basketball player |
| 16 | | for the Golden State Warriors, and we wish him success in his |
| 17 | | future endeavors; and be it further

| 18 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 19 | | presented to Andre Iguodala as an expression of our esteem and |
| 20 | | respect.
