| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Glenna D. Harris of Atwood, who passed |
| 4 | | away on May 15, 2023; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Glenna Harris was born to Gerald Arthur and |
| 6 | | Margaret E. Hall Butler in Rushville, Indiana on March 12, |
| 7 | | 1938; she attended Hammond Grade School and graduated from |
| 8 | | Atwood-Hammond High School in 1956; she graduated from the |
| 9 | | Burnham School of Nursing in 1959; she married Roger Harris in |
| 10 | | Hammond on August 8, 1959; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Glenna Harris worked as a registered nurse at the |
| 12 | | medical clinics of Dr. Gordon, Dr. Harry Messmore, and Dr. |
| 13 | | David Platzbecker for several years; she also worked as |
| 14 | | bookkeeper and manager of Harris Companies in Atwood; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Glenna Harris was a member of United Church of |
| 16 | | Atwood, the Order of the Eastern Star, and the 16 High Card |
| 17 | | Club; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Glenna Harris enjoyed reading; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Glenna Harris was preceded in death by her |
| 20 | | parents; and
