| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Leslie J. "Jack" Fyans Jr., Ph.D., who |
| 4 | | passed away on June 12, 2023; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Fyans was born to Antoinette Picco Fyans and |
| 6 | | Leslie J. "Jack" Fyans in Salt Lake City, Utah on September 6, |
| 7 | | 1952; he married Paula Peterson at Antioch Church of Christ in |
| 8 | | Rossville on May 18, 1974, and they had two children; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Fyans was a consultant to the Illinois State |
| 10 | | Board of Education for over 10 years; he served as chief |
| 11 | | psychological consultant to the Veterans Center of Illinois |
| 12 | | for 36 years and as a consultant to the Federal Disability |
| 13 | | Program of the Illinois Department of Human Services for 32 |
| 14 | | years; he founded Clinical Counseling in 1979; he cared deeply |
| 15 | | for those he counseled and was affectionately known as "Doctor |
| 16 | | Jack" and "Doc"; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Fyans was a longtime, active, and devoted |
| 18 | | member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Fyans' love of life, good friends, and good |
| 20 | | wine, along with his quick-witted humor, made him the life of |
| 21 | | any party; his cherished friendships gained through church, |
