SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Dale W. Shutwell of rural LaHarpe, who 
4passed away on June 10, 2023; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Dale Shutwell was born to Fred and Margaret 
6(Maynard) Shutwell on January 27, 1927; he graduated from 
7LaHarpe High School in 1944 and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy; 
8following his honorable discharge, he married Eleanor Thompson 
9at LaHarpe Union Church on August 9, 1946; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Dale Shutwell was a respected lifelong farmer, 
11retiring in 1995; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Dale Shutwell was a member of LaHarpe Union 
13Church and LaHarpe American Legion Post #301; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Dale Shutwell was preceded in death by his wife 
15of 73 years, Eleanor; his daughter, Linda; his son, Ken; his 
16brothers, Kermit Shutwell and Vernon Shutwell; and his sister, 
17Dorothy Baxter; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Dale Shutwell is survived by his son, Ted 
19(Rosann) Shutwell; his grandson, Jared (KaDee) Shutwell; his 
20granddaughters, Willo (Ryan) Quivey and Anna Shutwell; and his

1great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Ella, Ava, and Myah Shutwell and 
2Shane and Sam Carpenter; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
5Dale W. Shutwell and extend our sincere condolences to his 
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
7further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to  the family of  Dale Shutwell as an expression of 
10our deepest sympathy.
