| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Jerry D. Saline of Knoxville, who |
| 4 | | passed away on July 23, 2023; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jerry Saline was born to Dean and Fern (Reed) |
| 6 | | Saline in Galesburg on October 3, 1947; he graduated from |
| 7 | | Knoxville High School in 1965; he served in the U.S. Army from |
| 8 | | July 1967 to February 1969; he married Teresa Clay in East |
| 9 | | Galesburg in February 1978; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, After his military service, Jerry Saline farmed |
| 11 | | with his father; he then worked for the City of Knoxville Sewer |
| 12 | | Department, Hiller Construction, and Laverdiere Construction |
| 13 | | before retiring from Midwest Crane; after retiring, he pursued |
| 14 | | snowplowing and garden tilling in Knoxville; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Jerry Saline was preceded in death by his parents |
| 16 | | and his siblings, Janice and Harold; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Jerry Saline is survived by his daughter, Amanda |
| 18 | | Joy (Cdr. J.A. Copes, USN, ret.) Clay-Copes; his sister, |
| 19 | | Barbara Heimer; his sister-in-law, Terrie Saline; his |
| 20 | | brother-in-law, Jerry Fordyce; and several nieces and one |
| 21 | | nephew; therefore, be it
