SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of William King "Bill" Little of Rock
4Island, who passed away on August 28, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bill Little was born to Marshall G. and Winifred
6K. in Saranc Lake, New York on November 13, 1935; he graduated
7from Franklin Academy High School in 1954; he completed two
8years of college studies; he married Betty Little at the
9American Embassy in Tokyo, Japan on July 15, 1957, and she
10preceded him in death in January 2021 after 64 years of
11marriage; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Bill Little served for 20 years in the U.S. Air
13Force; he enlisted in July 1954 and retired in August 1974; for
14his military service, he received the Bronze Star, the
15Meritorious Service Medal, the Air Force Commendation Medal,
16and the Vietnam Service medal; and
 
17    WHEREAS, After retiring from the military, Bill Little
18worked as a legal administrator for a law firm in Charleston,
19West Virginia and later for Katz, McAndrews, Durkee & Telleen
20in Rock Island; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Bill Little was a member of the KAABA Shrine, the

1Scottish Rite Valley of Moline, Trio Lodge 57 AF&AM, and the
2Air Force Sergeants Association; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Bill Little was an avid golfer who achieved six
4holes-in-one; he was also a lifetime fan of the Los Angeles
5Dodgers, including their earlier days in Brooklyn; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Bill Little was preceded in death by his wife,
7his parents, and his sister; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Bill Little is survived by his children, Dorothy
9(Tim) Brooks and Marshall (Rhonda) Little, and his
10grandchildren, Steve (Sheena) Osborne, Brent (Sadie) Osborne,
11Samantha Gaten, and Minao Little; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14William King "Bill" Little and extend our sincere condolences
15to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
16it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Bill Little as an expression of our
19deepest sympathy.
