SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Clarence Franklin "Frank" Meredith of 
4Sarasota, Florida, formerly of Sherman, who passed away on 
5August 6, 2023; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Frank Meredith was born in Pana on July 31, 1941; 
7he served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years; he married Deborah 
8Shroyer in April 2006; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Frank Meredith retired from the State of Illinois 
10after 24 years of service; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Frank Meredith served as the Mayor of the Village 
12of Sherman from 1987 to 2007; he also served as president of 
13the Illinois Municipal League from 2000 to 2001; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Frank Meredith was preceded in death by his best 
15friend and shih tzu, Max; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Frank Meredith is survived by his wife, Deborah 
17Meredith; his daughter, Kristin (Chris) Fulscher; his son, 
18Brian (Melis) Meredith-Evans; his stepsons, Arik (Nicole) and 
19Andrew (Stephanie) Smith; his grandchildren, Carson 
20(Courtney), Cameron, Adam, Maddox, Sadie, Jaxon, Ty, and

1Olivia Smith, Ryder Williams, and Erin Akin; and his 
2great-granddaughter, Elleree Smith; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
5Clarence Franklin "Frank" Meredith and extend our sincere 
6condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved 
7him; and be it further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to the family of Frank Meredith as an expression of 
10our deepest sympathy.
