SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Timothy R. "Tim" Kratochvil, who 
4passed away on September 23, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Tim Kratochvil was born to Roger and Mary 
6Kratochvil on April 2, 1974; he graduated from Mt. Olive High 
7School in 1992 and then attended Southern Illinois University 
8Carbondale, where he had a very successful baseball career and 
9was later inducted into the SIU Department of Athletics Saluki 
10Hall of Fame; after college, he played for two years with the 
11Boston Red Sox organization; he later earned a master's degree 
12and a superintendent's certification; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Tim Kratochvil spent 27 years in education; he 
14was a teacher and coach at Genoa-Kingston High School and 
15Taylorville High School; he served as the high school-junior 
16high school principal at Pawnee for 10 years and the last two 
17years as superintendent; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Tim Kratochvil's goal was always to make a 
19difference; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Tim Kratochvil is survived by his parents; his 
21children, Jack, Luke, and Olivia; his sister, Jane; the mother

1of his children, Wendy; and his companion, Melanie Shutt, and 
2her children, Riley and Randy; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
5Timothy R. "Tim" Kratochvil and extend our sincere condolences 
6to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be 
7it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to the family of Tim Kratochvil as an expression of 
10our deepest sympathy.
