| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Timothy R. "Tim" Kratochvil, who |
| 4 | | passed away on September 23, 2023; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Tim Kratochvil was born to Roger and Mary |
| 6 | | Kratochvil on April 2, 1974; he graduated from Mt. Olive High |
| 7 | | School in 1992 and then attended Southern Illinois University |
| 8 | | Carbondale, where he had a very successful baseball career and |
| 9 | | was later inducted into the SIU Department of Athletics Saluki |
| 10 | | Hall of Fame; after college, he played for two years with the |
| 11 | | Boston Red Sox organization; he later earned a master's degree |
| 12 | | and a superintendent's certification; and |
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Tim Kratochvil spent 27 years in education; he |
| 14 | | was a teacher and coach at Genoa-Kingston High School and |
| 15 | | Taylorville High School; he served as the high school-junior |
| 16 | | high school principal at Pawnee for 10 years and the last two |
| 17 | | years as superintendent; and |
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Tim Kratochvil's goal was always to make a |
| 19 | | difference; and |
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Tim Kratochvil is survived by his parents; his |
| 21 | | children, Jack, Luke, and Olivia; his sister, Jane; the mother |
