| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Maxine Althea Keith of Peoria, who |
| 4 | | passed away on September 29, 2023; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Maxine Keith was born to Martin Daniel and Mabel |
| 6 | | Victoria (Engquist) Heindselman in Paxton on December 17, |
| 7 | | 1924; she married William Edward Keith in New Albany, Indiana |
| 8 | | on April 28, 1943; and |
| 9 | | WHEREAS, During World War II, Maxine Keith worked at |
| 10 | | Caterpillar Inc., where she made parts; and |
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Maxine Keith and her husband owned and operated |
| 12 | | Viking Catering in Peoria for 40 years; and |
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Maxine Keith was a member of First English |
| 14 | | Lutheran Church in Peoria, where she was active in the |
| 15 | | church's Business Women's Circle; she was also a member of the |
| 16 | | Heart of Illinois Via de Cristo; and |
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Maxine Keith was preceded in death by her |
| 18 | | husband; one infant brother; her brother, Robert Heindselman; |
| 19 | | and two sisters, Voda Cochran and Kathleen Kagel; and |
