SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Douglas E. "Doug" Allen of Rock Island, who passed away on September 20, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Doug Allen was born in Los Angeles, California to Carl T. and Mona M. (Caylor) Allen on January 11, 1941; he served in the United States Navy from 1959 to 1961; he married Stephanie "Stevi" Rade in Panama City Beach, Florida on July 23, 1981; and

WHEREAS, Doug Allen worked for the Los Angeles City Fire Department for 20 years, before retiring as a captain; he then worked as a building inspector for Simi Valley in California; he became a building inspector for the City of Rock Island when he and Stevi moved to the Quad Cities; and

WHEREAS, Doug Allen's hobbies included racquetball, handball, and golf; he enjoyed spending time with his family and keeping up with his grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Doug Allen was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Doug Allen is survived by his wife, Stevi; his children, Carrie Robinson, Jodi (Tom) Cavanaugh, Brent (Stephanie) Wimmer, Doug Jr. (Amber) Allen, and Jayson (Erin) Wimmer; and his grandchildren, Ciara Cavanaugh, Michael Robinson, Timothy Cavanaugh, Kylie Wimmer, Matthew Allen, Cole Wimmer, Sean Wimmer, Christopher Wimmer, Lucas Wimmer, Emery Allen, and Brooklyn Allen; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Douglas E. "Doug" Allen and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Doug Allen as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
