| 1 | SENATE RESOLUTION | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
| 3 | to learn of the death of Kevin M. Dolan of Mundelein, who | ||||||
| 4 | passed away on October 7, 2023; and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Kevin Dolan was born in Youngstown, Ohio to John | ||||||
| 6 | and Mary Dolan on July 15, 1957; he attended St. Edwards | ||||||
| 7 | Elementary School and Ursuline High School; he graduated from | ||||||
| 8 | the University of Notre Dame in 1979 with a degree in finance, | ||||||
| 9 | and while in college, he developed a number of lifelong | ||||||
| 10 | friendships; he married Barb Wirtes in 1981; and | ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Kevin Dolan began working for Abbott Laboratories | ||||||
| 12 | after graduation; he worked there for 33 years, retiring in | ||||||
| 13 | 2012; while there, he served in a number of finance and | ||||||
| 14 | accounting roles, including vice president and controller for | ||||||
| 15 | TAP Pharmaceuticals and vice president and controller of the | ||||||
| 16 | US Pharmaceutical Division, and enjoyed close friendships with | ||||||
| 17 | many colleagues; and | ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Kevin Dolan served as Mundelein park district | ||||||
| 19 | commissioner beginning in 1997; during which time, he founded | ||||||
| 20 | the annual Dolan St. Patrick's Day Party; he was a member of | ||||||
| 21 | the school board for the Santa Maria del Popolo School, and | ||||||
| 22 | this experience as an elected official inspired him to seek | ||||||

| 1 | his position with the park district; he also served on the | ||||||
| 2 | board of trustees for the Illinois Association of Park | ||||||
| 3 | Districts (IAPD) and as a former chairman of the IAPD board; | ||||||
| 4 | and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Kevin Dolan loved golf since he was a child, | ||||||
| 6 | which would inspire him to become owner and proprietor of the | ||||||
| 7 | Four Seasons Golf Resort and Tiki Bar; his other | ||||||
| 8 | post-retirement pursuits apart from golfing and abundant | ||||||
| 9 | grilling for folks, included serving on the executive board of | ||||||
| 10 | North Shore Bank and being a silent partner in Our Lord's | ||||||
| 11 | Little Ones Preschool; and | ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Kevin Dolan was a 3rd degree member of the | ||||||
| 13 | Mundelein chapter of the Knights of Columbus; he coached his | ||||||
| 14 | sons' basketball teams and had played in basketball and | ||||||
| 15 | softball leagues with his friends; he was a Tig Award winner at | ||||||
| 16 | the Bud Bash; above all, he cherished his role as a husband and | ||||||
| 17 | father; and | ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Kevin Dolan was preceded in death by his parents | ||||||
| 19 | and his brother, Jack Dolan; and | ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, Kevin Dolan is survived by wife, Barb; his | ||||||
| 21 | children, Brian, Maggie, Sean, Kevin, and Meghan; and his | ||||||
| 22 | grandchildren, Maeve, Clare, and Quinn; therefore, be it | ||||||

| 1 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | ||||||
| 2 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 3 | Kevin M. Dolan and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
| 4 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
| 5 | further | ||||||
| 6 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 7 | presented to the family of Kevin Dolan as an expression of our | ||||||
| 8 | deepest sympathy. | ||||||
