| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Freddie P. Taylor of Rock Island, who |
| 4 | | passed away on September 27, 2023; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Freddie Taylor was born in Huntingdon, Tennessee |
| 6 | | on January 20, 1938; he was raised by his mother, Hazel |
| 7 | | (Taylor) Harrison, and his grandparents, Emanuel Taylor and |
| 8 | | Bertie (Alexander) Taylor; he served in the U.S. Air Force |
| 9 | | during the Vietnam War; he married Kathy Jo McNamara, and she |
| 10 | | preceded him in death on December 3, 2020; he was previously |
| 11 | | married to Beverly Boyd; and |
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Freddie Taylor worked at John Deere, Service |
| 13 | | Rubber, and different nightclubs; and |
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Freddie Taylor loved fishing, hunting, bowling, |
| 15 | | playing cards, and watching sports and western movies; and |
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Freddie Taylor was preceded in death by his |
| 17 | | mother; his grandparents; his grandson, Jerrell Gabriel Sr.; |
| 18 | | his brother, Robert Taylor; his sister, Peggy Taylor; his |
| 19 | | niece, India Taylor; his aunt, Ida Mae Taylor; and his |
| 20 | | great-nephews, Eric Cunningham and Marcus Kelly; and |
