| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Martin William Allen of New Windsor, |
| 4 | | who passed away on October 19, 2023; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Martin Allen was born to Fred William and Alice |
| 6 | | Pauline Stewart Allen in Galesburg on April 30, 1942; he |
| 7 | | graduated from Winola High School; he then proudly served in |
| 8 | | the U.S. Army in Vietnam; and |
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Martin Allen owned and operated the New Windsor |
| 10 | | Amoco Standard Station, serving the community as a mechanic; |
| 11 | | he also farmed in the surrounding area; and |
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Martin Allen was preceded in death by his parents |
| 13 | | and his brother, Max Allen; and |
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Martin Allen is survived by his sisters, Sandra |
| 15 | | Hay and Sharon Otten; his sister-in-law, Judy Allen; and nine |
| 16 | | nieces and nephews; therefore, be it |
| 17 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL |
| 18 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 19 | | Martin William Allen and extend our sincere condolences to his |
| 20 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
