SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Martin William Allen of New Windsor, 
4who passed away on October 19, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Martin Allen was born to Fred William and Alice 
6Pauline Stewart Allen in Galesburg on April 30, 1942; he 
7graduated from Winola High School; he then proudly served in 
8the U.S. Army in Vietnam; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Martin Allen owned and operated the New Windsor 
10Amoco Standard Station, serving the community as a mechanic; 
11he also farmed in the surrounding area; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Martin Allen was preceded in death by his parents 
13and his brother, Max Allen; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Martin Allen is survived by his sisters, Sandra 
15Hay and Sharon Otten; his sister-in-law, Judy Allen; and nine 
16nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL 
18ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
19Martin William Allen and extend our sincere condolences to his 
20family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
