| 1 | | SENATE RESOLUTION

| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to |
| 3 | | congratulate the Onarga Music Club on the occasion of its |
| 4 | | 100th anniversary; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, The Onarga Music Club was founded by 13 women |
| 6 | | from the Onarga area in 1924, and the organization has |
| 7 | | continued every year since then; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, The Onarga Music Club's original purpose was to |
| 9 | | develop the musical talents of its members and to stimulate |
| 10 | | musical culture in the community; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, The Onarga Music Club members continue its |
| 12 | | purpose today through sharing their love of music at nursing |
| 13 | | homes, schools, churches, and community events, encouraging |
| 14 | | children to participate in school music programs, and |
| 15 | | welcoming new members who share their love of music; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, The Onarga Music Club will celebrate its 100th |
| 17 | | anniversary in January 2024; therefore, be it
|
| 18 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL |
| 19 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the |
| 20 | | Onarga Music Club on achieving its 100th anniversary; and be |
