SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Danny Richard Carlson, who passed away 
4on December 3, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Danny Carlson was the son of Andrew Richard and 
6Una Pearl (Waters) Carlson and was born in St. Louis, Missouri 
7on December 11, 1945; he served in the U.S. Marine Corps in 
8Vietnam; he married Debbie S. Wood in Peoria on April 30, 1977; 
9and
 
10    WHEREAS, Danny Carlson worked as a postal carrier for the 
11United States Postal Service, retiring after 31 years of 
12service; he also worked as a semi-truck driver at Meinen Field 
13in Peoria and at the voting polls during elections in Canton; 
14and
 
15    WHEREAS, Danny Carlson was a member of the Peoria Heights 
16Navy Marine Club and a lifetime member of the Military Order of 
17the Devil Dogs; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Danny enjoyed fishing, bowling, making jerky, 
19playing darts and spending time at the Navy Marine Club, and 
20being with his family; and

1    WHEREAS, Danny Carlson was preceded in death by his 
2parents; his wife; his birth mother, Betty Peck; his sisters, 
3Patty and Connie; and his brother, Paul Carlson; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Danny Carlson is survived by his children, 
5Juanita Ashwood and William "Andy" (Miranda) Carlson; his 
6grandchildren, Eliessia, Brandon, Alyssa, and Chase; his 
7brother, Mike; and his sisters, Bonnie and Doris; therefore, 
8be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL 
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
11Danny Richard Carlson and extend our sincere condolences to 
12his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
15presented to the family of Danny Carlson as an expression of 
16our deepest sympathy.
