| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Steven G. Rose of East Moline, who |
| 4 | | passed away on December 9, 2023; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Steven Rose was born in Bettendorf, Iowa to |
| 6 | | George and Betty Beeks Rose on September 18, 1946; he served in |
| 7 | | the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, specializing in |
| 8 | | marksmanship with the Fort Hood Marksmanship Unit; he earned |
| 9 | | multiple awards and trophies; he married Roine "Ree" Schroeder |
| 10 | | on May 20, 1989; and |
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Steven Rose became a journeyman pattern maker, |
| 12 | | contributing his talents to various pattern shops across |
| 13 | | western Illinois and eastern Iowa; he joined the Rock Island |
| 14 | | Arsenal, where he initially worked as a pattern maker, |
| 15 | | advancing through various departments and roles; he retired |
| 16 | | with distinction as a program manager at the Rock Island |
| 17 | | Arsenal headquarters; and |
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Steven Rose's passion for projects persisted in |
| 19 | | his retirement; he joined the John Deere retail store, finding |
| 20 | | joy in assembling toys and connecting with others; he was a fan |
| 21 | | of the Iowa Hawkeye's football team and held season tickets |
| 22 | | for many years; he was known for his strong opinions and was |
