SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of John Woodford Snyder of Pekin, who 
4passed away on December 27, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, John Snyder was born in Mason City on May 28, 
61938; he served in the 101st Airborne Division of the U.S. 
7Army; and
 
8    WHEREAS, John Snyder enjoyed fishing, camping, and 
9spending time with his children, grandchildren, and 
10great-grandchildren; he was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and was 
11ecstatic to see them finally win the World Series; and
 
12    WHEREAS, John Snyder was known for his resilience, 
13selflessness, and faith; and
 
14    WHEREAS, John Snyder was the brother of 12 siblings, the 
15father of three children, the grandfather of six 
16grandchildren, and the great-grandfather of 10 
17great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL 
19ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
20John Woodford Snyder and extend our sincere condolences to his

1family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
2further
 
3    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
4presented to the family of John Snyder as an expression of our 
5deepest sympathy.
