| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Margo Jean Hurley of Elmhurst, |
| 4 | | formerly of Lincoln, who passed away on December 21, 2023; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Margo Hurley was born to James M. and Lulu |
| 6 | | "Katherine" Harvey in Witt on April 18, 1938; she graduated |
| 7 | | from Lincoln High School in 1956, where she was a member of the |
| 8 | | cheerleading squad and a competitive swimmer; she later |
| 9 | | attended Illinois State University and Parkland Community |
| 10 | | College; she married Claude H. "Bud" Hurley in Collinsville on |
| 11 | | April 25, 1959; and |
| 12 | | WHEREAS, After graduating high school, Margo Hurley moved |
| 13 | | to Chicago and worked at a premier modeling agency; in 1963, |
| 14 | | she began working for the University of Illinois Foundation in |
| 15 | | Champaign and remained there for three years; in 1969, she |
| 16 | | became the executive assistant and business manager for the |
| 17 | | Claude H. Hurley Company, Consulting Geotechnical & Forensic |
| 18 | | Engineers in Elmhurst, where she worked for 54 years; she was |
| 19 | | also a successful real estate investor; and |
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Margo Hurley was preceded in death by her |
| 21 | | parents; her brother-in-law, Elton Hurley; her nephew, Scott |
| 22 | | Whitbeck; her niece, Robin Bradford; and her grandson, John |
