SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Charles B. Knox III of Silvis, who 
4passed away on January 19, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Charles Knox was born to Charles Jr. Knox and 
6Betty Jean (Holstrom) Knox in Rock Island on January 21, 1946; 
7he graduated from Rock Island High School in 1964; he married 
8Barbara A. Denys in Davenport, Iowa on July 15, 1987; he served 
9in the U.S. Army; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Charles Knox worked for Sivyer Steel for 27 
11years; he then worked for John Deere for 10 years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Charles Knox was a member of the United Auto 
13Workers (UAW); and
 
14    WHEREAS, Charles Knox enjoyed spending time at the cabin 
15his parents built on the Rock River; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Charles Knox was preceded in death by his 
17parents; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Charles Knox is survived by his wife; his 
19children, Jennifer L. (Mark) Rummell, Michael C. Knox, and

1Candace (Bruce) Woods; his grandchildren, Charles Francisco 
2Rummell, Adrian McDevitt, Robert Hunter Woods, Summer 
3(Zachary) O'Leary, and Derek (Jericha) Woods; and his lifelong 
4friends, Bill Leisteko and Mary Leisteko; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL 
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
7Charles B. Knox III and extend our sincere condolences to his 
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to the family of Charles Knox as an expression of our 
12deepest sympathy.
