| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Donna Lee Tammen of Charleston, |
| 4 | | formerly of Gilman, who passed away on December 28, 2023; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Donna Tammen was born to Walter Ellsworth Pence |
| 6 | | and Martha Leona (Gerdes) Pence on June 1, 1946; she graduated |
| 7 | | from Gilman High School in 1964; she earned her cosmetology |
| 8 | | license from Skokie Beauty School; she was previously married |
| 9 | | to Jim Tammen; and |
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Donna Tammen was a hairstylist for over six |
| 11 | | decades, working first at her salon, Donna's Hair Creations, |
| 12 | | and later at Sassy Scissors in Charleston; and |
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Donna Tammen dedicated her time to charitable |
| 14 | | events and volunteered her talents as a hairstylist at Adams |
| 15 | | Funeral Chapel; and |
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Donna Tammen was a devoted member of St. Charles |
| 17 | | Borromeo Catholic Church; she was a member of Cosmetologists |
| 18 | | Illinois EAST Central and the Illinois Torchbearer Lambda |
| 19 | | #T04402 Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, where she also served as |
| 20 | | vice president; she belonged to a group comprised of fellow |
| 21 | | Gilman High School graduates called Girls of 64; and |
