| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Matthew Hutti of Charleston, who |
| 4 | | passed away on December 30, 2024; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Matthew Hutti was born to Stephen L. and Deborah |
| 6 | | L. Greiner Hutti on June 26, 1979; he graduated from |
| 7 | | Charleston High School in 1998; he earned his bachelor's |
| 8 | | degree from Fontbonne University in St. Louis in 2002 and his |
| 9 | | Master of Science in Sports Management from Eastern Illinois |
| 10 | | University in 2007; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Matthew Hutti initially worked as a cast member |
| 12 | | at Disney World in Florida before returning to Charleston, |
| 13 | | where he became a substitute teacher; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Matthew Hutti was elected to the Charleston City |
| 15 | | Council for three terms, striving to ensure all residents had |
| 16 | | access to positive opportunities; during his time in office, |
| 17 | | he focused his support on Lake Charleston, the Linder City |
| 18 | | Sports Complex, and the upcoming improvements to Douglas |
| 19 | | Drive; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Matthew Hutti embarked on many adventures in |
| 21 | | life, including dogsledding, parasailing, kayaking, skiing, |
|

| 1 | | zip-lining, hot air ballooning, motorcycling, and horseback |
| 2 | | riding; and
|
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Matthew Hutti, who never let his disability hold |
| 4 | | him back, was known for his generosity, being a good listener, |
| 5 | | and understanding the importance of relationships; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Matthew Hutti was preceded in death by his |
| 7 | | maternal grandparents, Richard Greiner and Isabelle Greiner; |
| 8 | | his paternal grandparents, Lawrence Hutti and Mary Jane Hutti; |
| 9 | | his cousin, Danny Greiner; and his uncle, David Hutti; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Matthew Hutti is survived by his parents; his |
| 11 | | siblings, Timothy P. Hutti, Patrick S. (Colleen Hollestelle) |
| 12 | | Hutti, and Heather H. (Sean) Kelly; his nephews and niece, Max |
| 13 | | D. Hutti, Cosette K. Hutti, Aidan Matthew Hutti, and Nolan P. |
| 14 | | Kelly; his godparents, Rebecca Hill and Mark Hutti; his |
| 15 | | goddaughter, Tess Isabelle Hill; and numerous aunts, uncles, |
| 16 | | and cousins; therefore, be it

| 17 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL |
| 18 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 19 | | Matthew Hutti and extend our sincere condolences to his |
| 20 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
